The Mimic Swim Paddle was designed to reverse engineer the scientific principles that artistic expression uncovers when we fall short of goals. By reimagining missteps as solutions, swimmers and coaches can use kinesthetic learning to reinforce a good swimming stroke. And challenge performance requirements.
The swimming paddles take their name and inspiration from an intelligent, agile design inspired by biomimicry. The mechanical properties of the darkling beetle and the lotus flower in particular. And years of swimming failures and successes forged an intuitive collaboration to help you find your feel for the water.
The surface of the swim paddles are innovated with special rubber nodes and grooves designed to pool water under the palm as the hand slides into the water. This promotes the flow of water during the most dynamic aspects of the stroke.
On the underside, a hexagonal channel system serves three distinct purposes. One, it provides a significant grip improvement. Two, the softer material allows more flexibility to the overall paddle design. Three, it helps the paddle float on the surface of the water.
The Mimic Swim Paddle
- nodes and grooves in the hand paddle provide a better kinesthetic feel for the water
- multipurpose hexagonal channels on the underside for a better grip during training
- two distinct materials allow for flexibility on longer swims and power for short bursts
- low profile finger straps for an adaptive connection to maximize stroke technique
